Four Saints Earn Weekly PAC Honors

(GREENVILLE, Pa.) – Thomas More College sophomore Madison Temple (Cincinnati, Ohio/Anderson) and sophomore Damion King (Winchester, Ky./George Rogers Clark), junior Christina Cook (Independence, Ky./Simon Kenton) and sophomore Logan Winkler (Independence, Ky./Simon Kenton) earned weekly honors from the Presidents' Athletic Conference as announced on Monday by the PAC office.

Temple was named the PAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week.  Temple averaged 21.5 points, 8.5 rebounds, 7.0 assists and 3.5 steals per game to help the Saints to a 2-0 record last week. She registered her first career triple double in Wednesday's win over Westminster, going for 18 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists. It was just the 17th triple double posted in Division III this season. For the week she shot 70.8 percent (17-of-24) from the floor and 75.0 percent (6-of-8) from three-point range.

King was named the PAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week.  King led the Saints to a pair of PAC wins last week, which kept them in second place in the PAC standings heading into the final week of the regular season. He averaged 22.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 2.0 steals per game and shot 94.4 percent (17-of-18) from the free throw line and 57.1 percent (4-of-7) from three-point range. In Thomas More's win over Westminster Wednesday, King scored a career-high 29 points, pulled down eight rebounds and dished out six assists.

Cook was named the PAC Women's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week.  Cook remains unbeaten in the 400 this indoor season after winning the event with a time of 59.12 seconds Saturday at Taylor's Trojan Invitational. She also ran to a fifth-place finish in the 200 (26.46). Her time of 8.00 seconds in the preliminaries of the 60 is currently the second-fastest in the league this year.

Winkler was named the PAC Men's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week.   At Taylor's Trojan Invitational Saturday, Winkler won the triple jump with a school-record effort of 42 feet, 11 inches. He also finished fourth with a school-record mark in the long jump (21-05.25) and eighth in the high jump (5-10.75). His mark in the long jump ranks first in the PAC, while his mark in the triple jump ranks second.

The men's and women's basketball teams are both at home on Wednesday (February 15) as they both host Saint Vincent College.  The women's game will tip-off at 5:30 p.m., followed by the men's game at 7:30 p.m.  The men's and women's track & field teams compete on Saturday (February 18) at the DePauw University Tiger Classic in Greencastle, Indiana.
