(GREENVILLE, Pa.) – Thomas More College sophomore goalkeeper Aleyna Heyman (Beavercreek, Ohio/Beavercreek), sophomore Natalie Kleier (Fort Wright, Ky./Notre Dame Academy) and sophomore Ross Klocke (Alexandria, Ky./Bishop Brossart) were honored today (Monday, September 11, 2017) by the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) office.
Heyman was named the PAC Women's Soccer Goalkeeper/Defensive Player of the Week. She earned a pair of non-conference shutouts last week for the Saints. In last Tuesday's 2-0 win at Capital University, Heyman finished with eight saves. In Saturday's 2-0 home win over Augustana College, she totaled seven saves. Heyman has 3.0 shutouts and a .917 save percentage in four starts this season for Thomas More.
Kleier was named the PAC Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week. She won the two-mile Wilmington College Tri-Meet last Thursday with a time of 13 minutes, 10.6 seconds. Thomas More and host Wilmington tied for the low team score with 38 points, but the Saints claimed the win after breaking the tie with its sixth runner finishing higher in the standings.
Klocke was named the PAC Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week. He posted the winning time of 16 minutes, 42.79 seconds last Thursday at the 30-runner Wilmington Tri-Meet. The Saints won the five-kilometer event with 25 points.
The ninth-ranked women's soccer team returns to action on Wednesday (September 13) when it travels to Hanover, Indiana to play Hanover College at 5 p.m. Both country teams compete at the 39th Annual National Catholic Invitational on Friday (September 15) in South Bend, Indiana.
