(CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.) – The Thomas More College women's soccer team was honored by the United Soccer Coaches (formerly the NSCAA), receiving the Team Academic Award. This award recognizes extraordinary performances in the classroom during the previous school year.
The criteria for the Team Academic Award, according to the United Soccer Coaches website, is that the combined team grade point average must be at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale for a team to be considered. Thomas More was nominated by Head Coach Kim McGowan, alongside 531 other women's teams and 282 men's teams nominated. There was a total of 195 schools who had their men's and women's programs nominated.
