(WACO, Texas) - The Thomas More College football team is ranked No. 25 in the first American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Division III Coaches' Top-25 poll for the 2013 season.
Thomas More received 137 points to being ranked No. 25. The Saints are the highest ranked Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) team as Washington & Jefferson College received 16 points and Waynesburg University received two points.
The Saints are off to a 2-0 start after defeating Capital University, 20-0, and PAC foe Westminster College, 31-0. The two shutout wins mark the first time in program history that the Saints have opened a season with two straight shutouts and the first time they have posted back-to-back shutouts since the 1999 season. Thomas More is averaging 430.5 yards of total offense (211.0 rushing, 219.5 passing), while holding the opposition to 274.5 yards of total offense (123.0 rushing, 151.5 passing).
The Saints open the home portion of their schedule this Saturday (September 28) when they host Waynesburg at 1:30 p.m. at The Bank of Kentucky Field in Crestview Hills, Kentucky.
