(CINCINNATI, Ohio) – The Thomas More College men's basketball team fell, 78-38, to NCAA Division I No. 17-ranked Xavier University today (Saturday, November 4, 2017) in an exhibition game at the Cintas Center in Crestview Hills, Kentucky.
The Saints held the Musketeers, who reached the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament last season, to 47.5 percent shooting from the floor, including 30.8 percent from behind the three-point arc and forced eight Xavier turnovers.
Thomas More was led in scoring by senior guard Michael Griffin (Crestwood, Ky./South Oldham), who had 15 points on six-of-10 shooting from the field, including three-of-six from behind the arc. He also pulled down six rebounds for the Saints. Junior guard/forward Brandon Horne (Louisville, Ky./Male) just missed a double-double as he tallied nine points and pulled down a team-high eight rebounds.
The Saints return to action on November 15 when they host Wilmington College at 7 p.m. in their season opener at the Connor Convocation Center in Crestview Hills, Kentucky.
