(CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.) – The Thomas More College men's basketball team hosted Chatham University Cougars today, Saturday December 9, 2017. The Saints came away with an 81-58 victory over the Cougars. With the win, the Saints improve to 6-3 overall and 3-1 in the PAC. With the loss, Chatham falls to 4-5 overall and 1-3 in the PAC.
The Saints took a strong 6-0 lead to start the game off from jumpers by Damion King and Austin Young. Midway through the first-half, the Saints had a nine-point lead. Brandon Horne and Ralph Stone connected with a few jumpers. Going into half-time, Thomas More had a 14-point lead, 37-23. Coming out of half-time the Saints pushed their lead to 17 form a Michael Griffin three-pointer. The Saints led by as much as 26 in the second quarter, which was the highest lead of the game. Antonio McKinney nailed a three-pointer to give the Saints the victory, 81-58.
King put up a double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds. He also recorded three assists and one steal. Stone put up 11 points along with seven rebounds, and five assists. Stone also went a perfect five-for-five from the field. The Saints shot a .548 percent from the field, .500 from three-point range, and 1.000 from the foul line.
The Saints host Franklin on December 19. Tip-off will be at 7:00 PM.
