(NEWPORT, Ky.) – The Thomas More College Saints hosted its first bowling tournament of the season at SuperBowl in Newport, Ky. today. Including Thomas More, there were a number of high caliber teams that competed in the tournament, including University of Louisville, Northern Kentucky University, Bellarmine, Shawnee State University, Miami University of Ohio, and Youngstown State University.

The tournament style was a round of team play moving into individual Baker games. After the final round of team play for the men, University of Louisville took three of the top five spots of the men's All-Tournament Team (Kyle Abell, 828; Kiefer Hillrich, 808; Brad Riggs, 765), along with Thomas More in third (Jacob Lawson, 793), and Northern Kentucky in fourth (Zachary Lawson, 791). After the team play rounds for the women, Northern Kentucky was on top for the All-Tournament Team (Sydney Renner, 716), followed by Thomas More (Katherine Laine, 695), Shawnee State (Kelsey Pothast, 673), and Bellarmine taking the fourth and fifth spots (Abigail Bauer, 670, Grace Metts, 667).

After the 16 rounds of the Baker Games, University of Louisville came out on top for the men, with a combined total of 6625 (3774, 2920). Northern Kentucky took second with 6503 (3583, 2920), and Thomas More came out in third with 6113 (3548, 2565). Shawnee State, 6044 (3430, 2614) and Youngstown State, 5399 (2991, 2408), rounded out the top five. Shawnee State J.V. took sixth with 5315 (3034, 2281), Miami of Ohio took seventh with 4138 (2449, 1689), and Bellarmine took eighth with 765 (765, 0).

After the 16 rounds for the women concluded, Bellarmine took the top spot with a combined total of 5583 (3182, 2401). Northern Kentucky came in second with 5460 (3064, 2396), Thomas More took third with 5203 (2894, 2309), while Shawnee State took fourth with a total of 4706 (2778, 1928).

Both teams compete next on January 13 and 14, at the Buckeye Baker Classic in Columbus, Ohio.
