Men's Soccer Falls 3-1 Against Hanover in Opening Non-Conference Match

(CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.) – The Thomas More College men's soccer team hosted Hanover College Panthers today (Sunday, September 3, 2017) in their first non-conference match-up at BB&T Field. The Saints fell 3-1, making them 0-1 on the season.

The first-half was fairly even between the Saints and the Panthers with Thomas More having six shots on goal over Hanover's four. The downfall for the Saints throughout the game was the fouls. A costly penalty giving the Saints a yellow card and allowing the Panthers to go up 1-0 right before half with a penalty shot from Hanover's Thomas Doering.

Hanover quickly went up 3-0, scoring another two goals early in the second half, but the Saints still fought back. Junior transfer, Zane Ross put the Saints on the board in the 79th minute. The Saints kept looking to score before time expired, but the Panthers ended up taking it, 3-1. The Saints and Panthers were neck and neck in shots on goal and saves with 11-11 and 3-3, however the fouls weighed more towards the Saints 14-11. Junior goal keeper Jeff Paulin played all 90 minutes.

Thomas More plays at home again Tuesday September 5, 2017 against Centre at 5:00 PM. Live video and stats are available with links found on TMCSaints.com on the men's soccer schedule page.
