Men's Tennis Wins Final Conference Match of the Regular Season

(CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.) – The Thomas More College men's tennis team hosted Geneva College for the final conference match of the season at the Five Seasons in Crestview Hills, Ky. The Saints defeated the Golden Tornadoes 8-1, improving their record to 12-3 overall. 

The Saints swept the singles competition. Derrick Kwok won his singles match 7-6 (7-3), 6-4. Jeffrey Schenk won 6-7 (5-7), 6-4, 1-0 (10-6). The remaining four singles matches were won in two sets. Sheldon Preisler won 6-2, 6-1, Mike Schwarz won 6-3, 6-3, Jared Haught won 6-0, 6-2, and Wesley Smith won 6-2, 6-1. 

The Saints went 2-1 in doubles competition with Derrick Kwok and Haught winning 9-8 (7-5) and duo Logan Daniels and Brandon Kwok won 8-2. Partners Preisler and Schenk fell 8-5 in their doubles match. 

The Saints are back on the court tomorrow to play in their final regular season match of the season against Marietta at Covington Catholic High School. The match will begin at 1:00 pm.
