(UPLAND, Ind.) – The Thomas More College men's track & field competed at the unscored Trojan Invitational hosted by Taylor University on Saturday (February 11, 2017) inside the Kelser Fieldhouse in Upland, Indiana.
The Saints had 14 Top-10 performances. Sophomore Logan Winkler (Independence, Ky./Simon Kenton) had three Top-10 finishes as he won the triple jump with a mark of 13.08-meters, fourth in the long jump with a jump of 6.53-meters and eighth in the high jump with a jump of 1.80-meters. Winkler's marks' in the triple and long jumps were both school records. Thomas More had two other Top-10 finishes in the triple jump as senior Wesley Lewis (Cincinnati, Ohio/North College Hill) was fourth with a mark of 12.35-meters and first-year David Kelley (California, Ky./Bishop Brossart) was sixth with a mark of 11.92-meters.
Sophomore Patrick Moultrie (Fresno, Calif./McLane) was sixth in the high jump with a jump of 6.46-meters. In the 3,000-meter run sophomore Ross Klocke (Alexandria, Ky./Bishop Brossart) was fifth with school record time of 9:11.36 and sophomore Michael Campbell (Cincinnati, Ohio/LaSalle) was sixth with a time of 9:33.38. Sophomore Chris Loos (Highland Heights, Ky./Bishop Brossart) was sixth in the 1,000-meter run with a time of 2:42.62, junior Zach Hans (Louisville, Ky./Holy Cross) was eighth in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.83-seconds and first-year Corey Young (Cincinnati, Ohio/Finneytown) was 10th in the 400-meter dash with a time of 52.72-seconds.
Thomas More had three teams place high in the 4x400-meter relay as team "A" was third with a time of 3:33.92, team "C" was seventh with a time of 3:48.17 and team "B" was ninth with a time of 3:49.35.
The Saints return to action on February 18 when they compete at the DePauw University Tiger Classic in Greencastle, Indiana.
