TMC Has Seven Named NFCA All-America Scholar Athlete

(LOUISVILLE, Ky.) - The Thomas More College softball team had seven student-athletes named to the 2016-17 Easton/National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-American Scholar Athlete Team, as announced Tuesday by the Association. 

Those honored include: Laura Finke (Fort Wright, Ky./Notre Dame Academy), Aleks Casazza (Salem, N.Y/Salem), Kayla Fulcher (Mason, Ohio/Cincinnati Christian), Danielle Piening (Cincinnati, Ohio/McNicholas), Sydney Turner (Harrison, Ohio/Harrison), Whitney Quillen (Dayton, Ky./Highlands) and Kelly McCord (West Chester, Ohio/Lakota West). The award is given to any nominee who achieved a 3.50 grade point average or higher during the 2016-17 academic year.

Thomas More finished the 2017 season at 35-10 overall and recorded an undefeated 18-0 record in the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) regular season.  The Saints won the PAC regular season and championship tournament titles and made their eighth NCAA Tournament appearance and sixth under ninth-year head coach Lindsay Eagan.
