(INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.) - Thomas More College has been chosen by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) to host the first and second round of the NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Tournament March 7 and 8 at the Connor Convocation Center.
Thomas More will be hosting Salem College, John Carroll University and Texas Lutheran University. John Carroll and Texas Lutheran will play in the first game on Friday at 5 p.m. and the Saints and Salem will play in the second game at 7 p.m., with the two winners playing on Saturday at 6:30 p.m. for the right to advance to the sectionals.
The third-ranked Saints (28-0) earned the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Tournament after winning their eighth-straight PAC Championship Tournament.
The Salem Spirits (21-4) won the Great South Athletic Conference (GSAC) Tournament to earn the Conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
The John Carroll Blue Streaks (21-4) earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament as they were the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) regular-season co-champions, but fell in the conference tournament semifinals.
The Texas Lutheran Bulldogs (23-5) earned the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) automatic bid to the NCAA Touranament after winning the SCAC Tournament.
Tickets are $6 for adults and $3 for senior citizens and students and will be available at the gate starting at 90 minutes before tip-off.
