(HOLLAND, MI) – The Thomas More College women's basketball team headed up to Holland, Michigan Wednesday night to play in the sectional semifinals on Friday, March 9. The Saints went up a day early, leaving around 11:00 am Wednesday morning, to beat the bad weather. Along the way, the bus stopped for some lunch before the team took a quick stop in South Bend, Ind. and had the opportunity to get a practice in at the University of Notre Dame. The Notre Dame women's basketball head coach, Muffet McGraw, was gracious enough to have the Saints on after her practice. Before the 5:30 pm practice, the Saints were able to tour around the university and see some of the famous buildings on campus. The team went to many of the famous buildings, including the Main Building, which is known as the gold dome. Along with the Main Building, the Saints saw the Hesburgh Library with the "Touchdown Jesus" on the front of it facing the football field, the Basilica, the brand new student center which opened in January 2018 and walked by the football stadium. The Saints then went to practice inside the Edmund P. Joyce Center. Head Coach Jeff Hans gave the team the opportunity to take pictures and enjoy the moment before practice. After practice, the team loaded back up on the bus, grabbed some dinner, and headed up to Holland, Michigan, checking in at the DoubleTree hotel around 10:00 pm.
Day two of the trip was a relaxing day for the team, beginning with breakfast at the hotel and relaxing for a few hours, and grabbing some lunch at Buffalo Wild Wings. The team had a film session at 3:30 pm in a conference room at the hotel. After a quick film session, the team headed to Hope College, where the Saints will face the Golden Gusties on Friday. The Saints held a practice inside the DeVos Fieldhouse preparing for tomorrow then headed to Logan's for a team dinner. The rest of the night was a relaxing night for the team, getting ready for game-day Friday!
