Saints Move Up to Second Place at PAC Championship

(WARREN, Ohio) – The Thomas More College women's golf team shot a second round 359 today (Tuesday, October 3, 2017) and is in second place with a 730 (371-359) in the fall portion of the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Championship at Avalon Lakes in Warren, Ohio.

The 2017-18 PAC Championships is a 54-hole stroke play event, with 36 holes played at the Fall Championships and another 18 holes played at the Spring Championships in April. The combined 54-hole team total will determine the 2017-18 PAC team champions and winners of the league's women's automatic bid to the 2018 NCAA Division III Championships.

Saint Vincent College leads the championship with a 702 (361-341).

Thomas More has two golfers in the Top-10 as junior Christie Modafari (Mason, Ohio/Mount Notre Dame) is in fifth with a 173 (85-88) and senior Amber Greene (Catlettsburg, Ky./Fairview) is in ninth with a 181 (94-87).

Junior Sara Jackie (Louisville, Ky./Sacred Heart Academy) is in 11th with a 185 (93-92), sophomore Cora Bradford (Union, Ky./Ryle) is in 12th with a 191 (99-92) and sophomore Sophia Illokken (Cincinnati, Ohio/Oak Hills) is 17th with a 198 (99-99).

Washington & Jefferson College's Kaitlyn Vogel was individual medalist with a 162 (84-78).

Thomas More returns to action on October 7 and 8 and when it competes at the Eva Shorb Weiskopf Invitational hosted by The College of Wooster at the Wooster Country Club in Wooster, Ohio.
