Women's Golf Finishes Fourth at Saints Spring Invitational

(PERRY PARK, Ky.) – The Thomas More College women's golf team shot a 743 (371-372) to finish fourth today (Sunday, March 18, 2018) at the Saints Spring Invitational played on the Bucksin-Antler Course at the Perry Park Golf Club in Perry Park, Kentucky.

Junior Sara Jackie (Louisville, Ky./Sacred Heart Academy) led the Saints as she finished tied for seventh with a 172 (89-83).  She was joined in the Top-20 by junior Christie Modafari (Mason, Ohio/Mount Notre Dame), who was 16th with a 183 (91-92).  Sophomore Cora Bradford (Union, Ky./Ryle) was 21st with a 190 (91-99), senior Amber Greene (Catlettburg, Ky./Fairview) was 24th wit ha 198 (100-98) and senior Bethany DeAtley (Muses Mills, Ky./Fleming County) was 26th with a 224 (103-121).

Sophomore Sophia Illokken (Cincinnati, Ohio/Oak Hills) competed as and individual and finished tied for 19th with 189 (102-87).  Her 87 in the second round was a personal best for Illokken.

The University of Pikeville won the team championship with a 676 (337-339), while Spalding University's Kassidy Wallen was individual medalist with a 159 (79-80).

The Saints are idle until March 24 nd 25 when they travel to Louisville, Kentucky to compete at the Spalding Invitational at Persimmon Ridge Golf Club.
