(UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, Ohio) – The Thomas More College women's soccer team took on John Carroll today, Sept. 24, in University Heights, Ohio. The Saints fell 2-1 to the Blue Streaks, dropping Thomas More to 4-3-1 overall. With the win, JCU advances to 3-3-1 on the season.
JCU took the lead first, scoring in the 20th minute. The first half was evenly fought and going into half-time, Thomas More trailed 1-0. At the start of the second half, the Saints evened out the score early, in the 47th minute, with a goal from Olivia Nienaber, assisted by Hannah Dargo. Mid-way through the second half, JCU took back the lead, scoring in the 66th minute.
The Saints had more shots than the Blue Streaks in both halves, ending the game with 14 total shots to John Carroll's 12. Nienaber had five shots in the match being the leading Saint for total shots and shots on goal. Kylie Anderson was in goal for the Saints, playing the entire 90 minutes having two saves and allowed two goals to be scored.
The Saints will be back in action Sept. 28 taking on Kalamazoo. The match will start at 5:30 PM.
