Cook Qualifies for NCAA Outdoors for Third-Straight Year

(INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.) – The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) has announced the qualifiers for this week's Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships and Thomas More College junior Christina Cook (Independence, Ky./Simon Kenton) has been named a qualifier in the 400-meter dash.

The NCAA Championships, hosted by the University of Mount Union, will be May 25-27, 2017 at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio.

This is the third-straight year that Cook has qualified for the NCAA Outdoor Championship in the 400-meter dash.  She is seeded 21st in the 400-meters with a time of 56.58-seconds, which she set at the Indiana State University Twilight on May 6.

Cook was named the 2017 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Indoor Track Athlete of the Year and the overall PAC Indoor Track & Field Most Valuable Player as she finished first in the 400-meter dash and in the 200-meter dash.  During the outdoor season she was the PAC champion in the 400-meter dash and in the 200-meter dash.

The 400-meter dash preliminaries will be contested at 2:45 p.m. on Friday (May 26) and the finals will be contested at 1:10 p.m. on Saturday (May 27).
