Cook Qualifies For Fourth-Straight NCAA Outdoor Championship

(INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.) – The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) has announced the qualifiers for this week's Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships and Thomas More College senior Christina Cook (Independence, Ky./Simon Kenton) has been named a qualifier in the 400-meter dash.

The NCAA Championships, hosted by the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse, will be May 24-26, 2018 in LaCrosse Wisconsin.

This is the fourth-straight year that Cook has qualified for the NCAA Outdoor Championship in the 400-meter dash.  She is seeded sixth in the 400-meters with a time of 55.68-seconds, which she set at the Billy Hayes Invitational hosted by Indiana University on May 4.

Cook is a 19-time Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) champion as she won 10 events during her four years at the PAC Indoor Track & Field Championships and nine at the PAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships.  She was also named the 2015, 2016 and 2017 PAC Indoor Track Most Valuable Player and was also the 2017 PAC Indoor Overall Most Valuable Player.

In 2018, Cook was the Indoor PAC champion in the 200 and 400-meter dashes as well as in the distance medley relay and the Outdoor PAC champion in the 200 and 400-meter dashes and the 4x400-meter relay.

The 400-meter dash preliminaries will be contested at 4:15 p.m. Central on Friday (May 25) and the finals will be contested at 1:20 p.m. Central on Saturday (May 26).
