Volleyball Went 1-1 on Day Two of ONU Invitational

(ADA, Ohio) – The Thomas More College volleyball team competed in day two of the Ohio Northern Invitational today. The Saints went 1-1 on the day playing against the number 22 ranked ONU Polar Bears and the Defiance Yellow Jackets.

In the first match, the Polar Bears swept the Saints, 3-0 with the scores of 15-25, 14-25, 20-25. Sophomore Jenna Mummert recorded five assisted blocks. Rachel Bronner had 14 digs while Alyssa Collins was right behind her with 10 digs of her own. Jenna Fessler led the team in assists with 10.

Against the Yellow Jackets, the Saints got their first win under their belt for the season. Thomas More swept Defiance 3-0, with scores of 25-13, 25-23, 25-12. Alyssa Collins made a defensive stance recording 13 digs. Madison Read had 14 assists while Jenna Trimpe was right behind her adding another 12 to the Saints' total 38. Madison Krumpelman and Carlee Lambert both recorded nine kills each to help the Saints reach their first victory of the season.

Thomas More return to action September 8th, 2017 against Heidelberg at 7:30 PM.
