Thomas More Wins Wilmington Tri-Meet

(WILMINGTON, Ohio) – The Thomas More College women's cross country team won the Wilmington College tri-meet today (Thursday, September 7, 2017) on a tie-breaker as it defeated Wilmington and Notre Dame (Ohio) College in Wilmington, Ohio.

The Saints tied the host Quakers, 38-38, but won them meet as the Saints' sixth runner finished higher than Wilmington's sixth runner.

Sophomore Natalie Kleier (Fort Wright, Ky./Notre Dame Academy) won the meet with a time of 13:10.6.  Three other Saints finished in the Top-10 as senior Kelsey Etherton (Fort Thomas, Ky./Highlands) was eighth with a time of 14:05.2, sophomore Shelly Neiser (Alexandria, Ky./Bishop Brossart) was ninth with a time of 14:20.5 and sophomore Maggie Harris (Anderson, Ohio/Anderson) was 10th with a time of 14:28.5.

First-year Shannon Smith (Leichfield, Ky./Grayson County) was 14th with a time of 14:51.5 and Sophomore Dominique Webber (Bellevue, Ky./Dixie Heights) was 18th with a time of 15:23.2.

The Saints return to action on September 15 when they travel to South Bend, Indiana to compete at the 39th Annual National Catholic Invitational.
